How to remove torsion bars??
Hey guys need a little help with some ideas on how to get the torsion bars out of the keys as well as the lower control arms. This is from an s10 blazer but I'm sure the principal is all the same. From what I understand is the bars should "just slide" forward out of the keys and the control arms. The lower control arms, torsion bars and torsion bar mount are all removed from the truck. Thanks

Idea is to remove them so I can replace the bushings in the c.a's and powder coat it all. =)
I've come to the conclusion that they have a date with the torches at work and a bfh.

if you have no access to heat , try soaking them in penetrating fluid like Moovit and a BFH

I was able to get 3 end of the bars out myself with a sledge, penetrating fluid, air chisel and lots of time. The last key was really attached to the torsion bar. Took it to a buddy's welding shop and he heated the key up and punched it out in about 2 mins. Now I can start to put it back together.
